ELLA International Lesbian Festival, Mallorca, Spain
When she moved to the Spanish island of Mallorca in 2005, ELLA originator Kristin Hansen made it her central goal "to situate Mallorca as a genuine lesbian heaven on the global scene," making an International Lesbian Festival for strange ladies and nonbinary/trans people. Involving seven days of sun, fun, yoga near the ocean, water exercises, talks (see the whole 2019 program here), and, obviously, dance parties, ELLA praises its eighth year from Sept. 2-9, 2022, and has produced sister occasions all over the planet consistently, including Colombia, Mexico (Oct. 15-20, 2021), Costa Rica, and Switzerland (March 24-28, 2022),
Atlanta Black Pride, Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta's Black Pride Weekend began in 1996 as a Labor Day excursion for a gathering of African American companions and has since become one of the world's biggest LGBTQ dark pride occasions, enduring a whole week around Labor Day. Coordinated by charity In The Life Atlanta (ITLA), ABP offers a comprehensive range of local area centered exercises, including a film celebration, wellbeing and life exhibition, studios and discussions, blenders, informal breakfasts, and gatherings in abundance. The 25th-commemoration version is planned for Aug. 31-Sept. 6, 2021, while other remarkable urban areas' dark pride occasions incorporate London's U.K. Dark Pride, Dallas' Southern Pride, Detroit's Hotter Than July, and the nation's most established and still among the biggest, D.C. Dark Pride, which commended 30 years in 2021.
